Gardening

That time of year again and I have been busy making changes to my garden to try and use every bit of space. I want to grow vegetables, but still have space for herbs and flowers. I still have plants to put in, but the photographs show a start. Next weekend I will planting up my hanging baskets filled with marigolds and cherry tomatoes.

No I am not growing tyres, but have planted out potatoes to try for a good crop.

My green beans are just starting to climb up.

Peas just starting to come through and climb up the sticks.

A selection of herbs that I can just pick and use in my cooking. I have still to plant out my basil, as it needs lots of sun.

You are so far ahead of us! It is cold and rainy here today. I was in the flower beds yesterday and found that the soil is still very cool. We need some sunshine!

Everything look so lush. Seems that you will have a good crop. Please tell me, do you put soil inside that tower of tires, then plant potatoes inside? That looks interesting.
Thanks for your sweet visit. Blogger has been such a bratty system lately something is always wrong. I am so glad I was able to comment.
Enjoy your weekend. Ginger :)

Hi thanks for visiting my blog. Mu niece lives in Breaston so I know your county a bit and in any case I used to live in Lichfield so Dovedale was near enough for a day out. Interesting those tyres - on holiday at friends is Essex we saw that they were growing herbs in old tyres - they were doing well and looked well too. We can't grow basil outside here - too far North so I grow it on the kitchen window sill. Do call again.

I love growing potatoes in old tires...gives the tires a use and it produces lot of great vegetables. How lovely and green everything looks.
